Mullenberg Designs

About the studio

Mullenberg Designs is a hand bookbindery owned and operated by Master Binder Scott Mullenberg. The studio is nestled in the North Dam mill, a repurposed textile mill, located on the banks of the Saco river in Biddeford, Maine. As part of the growing creative community in Biddeford, Mullenberg Designs is proud to uphold the maker tradition of old world craft and commitment to quality. Local Artist Sarah Baldwin joined Scott at Mullenberg Designs in 2013 to train in the fine art of custom bookbinding.

When it came time to work with Scott I discovered that it was a most amazing experience. I had finished the images that I was going to put in the book and was thrilled that I had created a cohesive body of work. I could not imagine being any happier. I truly had no idea how much the housing would complete my vision. When we were done I was amazed as the housing pulled everything together.
